Privacy Policy
Last updated:
This policy explains which personal data this website processes, why, for how long and how you can exercise your rights, under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Brazil's General Data Protection Law (Law 13,709/2018, LGPD).
Who is the controller
The controller is Alexandre Vidal Porto, owner of this website (alexandrevidalporto.com). Privacy requests can be sent through the contact form on the home page, with “Privacy” as the subject.
What data we collect
Contact form: the name, e-mail address, subject and message you choose to send.
Technical data: like any website, the hosting provider automatically logs the IP address, date and time of access and the browser used, for security and operational purposes.
The website does not use audience analytics, advertising, tracking pixels or embedded social media.
Why we use it and on what legal basis
Form data is used only to read and reply to your message (invitations, press, events, readers). The legal basis is taking steps at your request (GDPR art. 6(1)(b); LGPD art. 7, V) and our legitimate interest in answering the messages we receive (GDPR art. 6(1)(f); LGPD art. 7, IX).
Technical data is processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping the website secure and available.
We do not sell or rent your data, and we do not use it for marketing.
Who we share it with
Netlify, Inc. (United States), which hosts the website and stores the messages sent through the form. Netlify automatically filters spam with the Akismet service, which receives the message content for that check.
Data is not shared with anyone else, except where required by law or by order of a competent authority.
International transfers
Because Netlify is based in the United States, data is transferred outside the European Union and Brazil. Transfers rely on the safeguards in chapter V of the GDPR and article 33 of the LGPD, including standard contractual clauses and Netlify's participation in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
How long we keep it
Form messages are kept for up to 12 months after the last contact and then deleted, unless they must be kept longer to meet a legal obligation or to continue an ongoing conversation.
The hosting provider's technical logs follow Netlify's own retention periods.
Cookies
The website uses a single cookie, NEXT_LOCALE, set only when you choose a language in the menu. It stores your language preference (pt, en or it) for up to 12 months and is strictly necessary for that purpose, so it does not require consent.
We do not use analytics, advertising or third-party cookies. You can delete cookies at any time in your browser settings.
Your rights
You may request access to, rectification, erasure or portability of your data, restrict or object to its processing, and ask for information about how it is shared (GDPR arts. 15–21; LGPD art. 18).
To do so, use the contact form with “Privacy” as the subject. We will reply within 15 days.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection authority of your country in the European Union or with Brazil's National Data Protection Authority (ANPD).
Security
The website is served only over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) and uses technical measures to protect information. No system is completely immune to failure; if an incident occurs that may pose a significant risk to you, we will notify you as required by law.
